Thanksgiving is Instagrams Busiest Day to Date

One of the most popular things photographed and shared on Instagram is food, so it’s no wonder that yesterday was an extremely popular day to share Thanksgiving photos. Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks for all you have in your life…and to upload photos onto Instagram of the fatty foods you’re about to devour.

Instagram stated through a blog post this morning that more than 10 million photos having to do with Thanksgiving were posted on Instagram yesterday. More than 200 photos were posted about Thanksgiving at different times throughout the day. Breaking the previous record set by Hurricane Sandy. I’m predicting that Christmas day will be the next holiday to break the Thanksgiving Instagram record.

Seriously! Instagram was blowing up on Thanksgiving. At the same time though, when is Instagram not dominated by food photos? Maybe the people I follow are all just want-to-be food critics but I can swear that roughly 50% of the photos the people I follow post on Instagram are of food. Is this something you experience too and were you a Thanksgiving culprit too?

I wasn’t an Instagram culprit this Thanksgiving because I honestly forgot, but many of my friends contributed to the Instagram food picture overload. I’m thinking about posting my food on Christmas day, maybe that will be another trendy day for Instagram.
